Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Personal and social adjustment and health (substance abuse, gambling, behaviour disorders). Programs dealing with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Work setting: Urban area. Work in employer's/client's home. Chronic or long-term care facilities/centres. Group home. Persons with an intellectual disability. Tasks: Examine the behaviour. Record observations. Review reports from health care professionals to determine patients' current and potential functioning levels. Implement treatment plans. Develop and implement counselling and intervention programs to assist clients in determining goals and means of attaining them. Maintain accurate records. Help clients manage physical illness and disorders. Administrative and office activities. Prepare reports or case histories. Assess client's relevant skill strengths and development needs. Provide suicide and crisis intervention. Resolve conflict situations. Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses. Implement behaviour management programs. Conduct individual and group counselling sessions. Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment programs. Housekeeping activities. Food preparation. Develop, co-ordinate and implement the delivery of specific services within the community. Assist clients/guests with special needs. Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients. Accompany clients to appointments and social outings. Supervision: 5-10 people.
