The Ministry of Social Services seeks a Child Protection Assistant Supervisor in Nipawin to support delivery of protective, preventative, and support services to children, parents, and foster families using the Family Centered Case Management and P.R.I.D.E. models. The role focuses on supervising, mentoring, and guiding staff, supporting child placements, coordinating service delivery across programs and partner agencies, and ensuring adherence to ministry policies, legislation, and practice standards. The position also acts as a liaison with First Nations Child and Family Services and community partners, and may represent the ministry on committees. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, accountable, and inclusive leader who fosters respect, empowers others, and contributes to team success. They are innovative, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning, able to manage ambiguity, engage diverse perspectives, and demonstrate strong public service values. They communicate effectively, think critically, and build meaningful working relationships while supporting staff performance and program outcomes. Required qualifications include a Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work from an accredited university recognized by SASW/CASW or CASWE. Candidates must demonstrate strong communication, digital, analytical, and data literacy skills, as well as political and organizational awareness. The role requires flexibility to travel, work evenings and weekends, transport clients, and perform physical tasks up to 20 kg. Responsibilities include supporting program delivery, conducting client assessments, analyzing data to improve services, facilitating meetings, preparing reports, and ensuring accurate documentation while meeting program objectives and client needs.
