Education: Master's degree. Work setting: Clinic. Tasks: Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling and the patient's outcomes. Interview clients, prepare case histories and assess problems. Interview patients . Record observations. Write progress reports . Prepare a treatment plan for each patient. Provide education to clients regarding health promotion and injury prevention, management and treatment. Provide therapy. Implement treatment plans. Perform administrative tasks. Analyze the patient during the treatments. Apply psychological theory and principles regarding behaviour and mental processes. Develop and implement counselling and intervention programs to assist clients in determining goals and means of attaining them. Maintain accurate records. Plan intervention programs. Help clients manage physical illness and disorders. Identify additional/alternative services and provide referrals. Liaise with community agencies or partners, and identify additional or alternative services and provide referrals. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Accreditation or registration with the appropriate national, provincial or territorial professional association.
