Position SummaryWilmot United Church is seeking a compassionate, creative, and energetic individual to serve as our Children, Youth and Young Adult Ministry Coordinator. Reporting to the Faith Formation Committee and working collaboratively with ministry staff, volunteers, church leadership, and community partners, the Coordinator will provide leadership for faith formation and engagement opportunities for children, youth, young adults, and their families.This position supports the church's mission of nurturing spiritual growth, building meaningful relationships, fostering inclusion, and encouraging participation in the life and ministry of the church and wider community. The Coordinator will cultivate welcoming, safe, affirming, and engaging opportunities that support faith development, community building, leadership, service, and a sense of belonging.Wilmot United Church is an Affirming congregation of The United Church of Canada that welcomes and celebrates people of all ages, abilities, races, ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, family configurations, and socioeconomic backgrounds.Position InformationPosition Title: Children, Youth and Young Adult Ministry CoordinatorReports To: Faith Formation Committee through its designated Chair or delegateWorks Collaboratively With:· Minister(s)· Faith Formation Committee· Ministry and Personnel Committee· Music Ministry· Church staff· Congregational committees· Volunteers· Community and ecumenical partnersEmployment Status: Part-time (approximately 10 hours per week)Compensation: Salary range of $27-30/hour, depending on qualifications and experienceWork Schedule: Flexible, including Sunday mornings, occasional evenings, and special events.QualificationsThe successful candidate will demonstrate a combination of education, experience, skills, and personal qualities relevant to ministry with children, youth, and young adults.Preferred qualifications include:· Post-secondary education in education, theology, ministry, child and youth care, social sciences, recreation, social work, or a related field.· Experience working with children, youth, young adults, volunteers, or community groups.· Experience planning and facilitating educational, recreational, faith-based, or community programs.· Understanding of child and adolescent development.· Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, the theology and practices of The United Church of Canada.· Familiarity with Godly Play or willingness to undertake training.· Experience recruiting, coordinating, and supporting volunteers.· Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.· Ability to work independently and collaboratively.· Ability to create welcoming and inclusive environments.· Demonstrated initiative, creativity, flexibility, and sound judgment.Core CompetenciesThe successful candidate will demonstrate:· Commitment to Christian faith formation and spiritual development.· Respect for diversity and inclusion.· Relationship-building skills.· Volunteer leadership and mentorship abilities.· Organizational and time-management skills.· Program planning and evaluation skills.· Effective communication and collaboration.· Professional integrity and accountability.· Adaptability and creativity.Working Conditions· Flexible schedule with Sunday morning responsibilities.· Occasional evening and weekend activities.· Some local travel may be required.· Ability to participate in indoor and outdoor activities.· Ability to engage in activities involving children and youth.Our CommitmentWilmot United Church is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for all.
