The City of Delta is looking for dedicated individuals to join our team and share in our commitment to lead the way in public service excellence.City of DeltaAnimal Shelter AttendantThe City of Delta is looking for auxiliaries in our Animal Shelter Attendant position. This position requires exceptional customer service skills and the ability to interact with the public, in addition to a passion for animals. These are auxiliary/casual opportunities with no guarantee of weekly hours. In addition, employees will be required to work non-standard hours including evenings and weekends. Responsibilities Feed, handle, and care for animals Clean kennels and cages, Carry out routine facility cleaning and maintenance, Perform routine clerical tasks. May also be required to administer routine medical treatments and handle animals with a range of different temperaments. Qualifications Experience working with animals is preferred Courses in veterinary assistance, animal behaviour and/or training is preferred Class 5 BC Driver's Licence Ability to form excellent working relationships with volunteers and the public Provide your availability using the following link Candidates that are shortlisted will be tested on their typing and computer proficiency. The City of Delta provides a competitive salary $31.28 - $36.74 (commensurate with experience) plus 12% in lieu of vacation leave, benefits, and statutory holidays.
